Blue Egg Gene

This purchase is for laboratory PCR testing to determine whether your bird carries the Blue Egg gene (O). This test identifies whether the bird is O/O (two copies), O/o (one copy), or o/o (does not carry the gene). No physical items are shipped to you.

This test requires a blood sample only.

After placing your order, you must complete the Sample Details Form for each bird you are testing. This form assigns your Sample IDs and ensures we correctly match your samples to your results. Please complete this form before mailing your samples.

Once your samples are prepared, you are responsible for mailing them to our lab. Detailed blood collection instructions and a downloadable PDF are included with this product.

What you receive:

• PCR-based testing for the Blue Egg (O) gene

• Genotype result: O/O, O/o, or o/o

• Results uploaded directly to your customer account dashboard

• Email notification when your results are available

Important:

• Nothing is shipped to you.

• You must mail your samples to the lab for testing.

• Only blood samples are accepted for this genetic test.

• The Sample Details Form must be completed before sending samples.
