Frequently Asked Questions:
-
When filling out my sample details, what is the BIRD ID?
-
The Bird ID is simply the identifier you choose for each bird you submit for testing. This can be a band number, leg band, name, pen ID, or any label you use to tell your birds apart. The bird ID does not come from us -- it is for your records and will appear on your results.

What is your mailing address?
-
Our mailing address is shown on your Batch Slip. You can access the Batch Slip in either of these ways:
-
Immediately after entering your sample details by clicking Save.

From your dashboard, by clicking 'View Batch Slip' next to a batch that already has your sample details completed.
-
-
The Batch Slip includes:

Our current mailing address
-

You will be redirected to your Customer Dashboard. There you will see your test credits that you purchased.

When you are ready to have your birds tested, click the 'Use Credits' button.

-
What do I do if I paid for tests but they are not showing in my dashboard?
-
Occasionally, when multiple orders are being placed at the same time or due to rare system hiccups, a payment can successfully go through but the credit may not immediately appear on your dashboard. No worries! Your payment is not lost.
-
If this happens, simply email us at Knightspoultryandlab@gmail.com with your name and order details. We will quickly verify the payment and manually add the credit to your account
-
We personally review and reconcile all orders, so you'll never lose credit for a paid test - even if technology has a moment.
-
-
-
When will I get my kit in the mail?
-
We do not mail kits. You collect your own samples and mail them to us using your own packaging. This allows you to send samples immediately without waiting.
-
-
How long does it take to get my results?
-
Most results are completed same day or next business day after samples arrive at out lab.
-
Turn around time depends on:
-
When your samples arrive
-
Sample quality
-
Test type
-
What part of the season we are in
-
-
Mailing time is not included in testing turnaround.
-
-
Do I need to mail my samples a certain way?
-
Other than using USPS, you do not need to mail your samples in a special way. Your blood on a coffee filter will last up to 3-4 weeks as long as you made sure your sample was dry before placing it inside the plastic bag.
-
We do suggest getting a tracking number. We do not need the tracking number, it is for you to keep up with your samples. Again, use USPS not FedEx or UPS if you are in the states.
-
-
What type of packaging do I need to mail my samples in?
-
You can send you samples in a regular envelope, padded envelope, or however you'd like.
-
No ice packs, no liquids, no special shipping required
-
-
How will I know if you have received my samples?
-
Once your samples have been received at the lab you will be sent an email letting you know we have them.
-
You can go to your dashboard and locate the batch in question and view the status of that batch.
-
If samples have not been received your status will say Details Entered
-
If samples have been received your status will say Samples Received
